Money to Burn Motorcycle Paint Set by Eye Kandi sm Photos During the Creation Process This is a Harley Davidson Dyna motorcycle custom paint set that Eye Kandi was commissioned to do for a local client. Our client had brought us this paint set which needed some repair for a gas leak & some other minor ding & chip repair. He was looking to get a new custom paint job & some custom airbrushing done as well. The client had a theme idea of "Money to Burn", he wanted burning 100 dollar bills all over the bike. He wanted the 100 dollar bills to have charred burnt edges & want them wisply twisting blowing in the wind. He had seen some done but most were flat & seem to not have much motion to them, his was to be different. The client wanted the fire to be Realistic Fire, done in shades of green & yellow. These are some photos that we took during the creation process of executing the airbrushed art work. Alot of time went into the detail & art work of the burning 100 dollar bills. These are 100% airbrushed, NOT any kind of ink transfer.

Attention to detail while airbrushing the art work, there is alot of art work & detail on a 100 dollar bill.

Quite a bit of time went into matching up the colors as best as possible from the base color of the hundred dollar bills to the actual airbrushed art work.

We thought it would be nice to airbrush both some fronts & backs of the hundred dollar bills. Since the backs were more whites & greens, the fronts were more black & white. It made for a nice range of color & detail.

Once we had all the necessary airbrushing done, that needed to be done with the hundred dollar bills masked from each other. We just needed to go back in an make any necessary clean ups.
Here is the right side of the motorcycle gas tank close to being finished up. Time to unmask the surroundings of the airbrushed paper money.
There is alot of detail airbrushed into just this little fragment of a 100 dollar bill.
Once all the peices have been unmasked it was time for us to go back in for some more free hand airbrushing to really tie in & soften up some of the one hundred dollar bills.

When we were presented with the idea to design this motorcycles custom paint job, we wanted to give the client a decent layout with the right amount of airbrush work without getting too busy & applying too much. Keeping in mind that we wanted to keep both sides of the motorcycles paint job somewhat symetrical.

Now it was time airbrush the charred edges on the money & add the true fire flames coming off of them.
We started laying out the realistic fire flames in various shades of greens & yellows. Its a time consuming process that takes many different layers to complete to get a nice effect.
In these photos the real fire is done & the motorcycle custom paint set is ready to go into clear coat.
I don't ever think photos ever give the best representation of detail.

The true fire also referred to as airbrushed realistic fire, real fire, realistic flames, real flame & true flames could have been done in a various range of different colors such as real orange & yellow, blues & whites, magenta & whites, violet purples & whites, purple & magenta, red & orange, whites, etc. Darker base colors seem to work better for contrast to pop the flames off of the motorcycle parts, but we can also add a smokey sooty base to help with the contrast. Also, the airbrushed real fire can give off a more suttle appearence against the lighter backgrounds, sometimes that is what a client may want.
